The question I get asked the most is where I find stock images. There are many options available for editorial use from professional photos, membership sites, and stock images. While some stock sites might come with a hefty price tag I’m here to share my tips on sourcing quality images for free.

Unsplash is a photo lover’s dream. This site offers over 50,000 free images. You can subscribe to get an inspirational collection in your email each month or simply view by collection or search for a specific term.

The neat thing about Unsplash is they offer a mobile app as well as desktop wallpapers!

Ivory Mix

This is by far my favorite site for free colorful and creative stock photos! There are numerous free images but also a subscription that gives you access to an extensive library of images.

Pixabay is a website that offers a little something more. Not only can you get photos of all kinds, they also offer vectors, illustrations, and videos. You can use it all at no cost. Better yet, the search capabilities allow you to filter by type, color, category, size, and more.

This free photo site, Kaboompics, with the quirky name grants you access to tons of photos from a wide selection of topics. Easy to search by word or category, you can browse images for all your blogging needs.

StockSnap is another favorite because they are constantly adding beautiful images free from copyright restrictions. If you’re looking for something unique to your brand this is the site I use after IvoryMix.

I keep these stock photo sites bookmarked in my browser because I’m constantly referring to them to create graphics. Do take the time to read the license information as some sites do require attribution for use of their products and do not allow commercial use.

You can easily download the images and use them in photoshop or a free editor like Canva. Enjoy creating beautiful graphics with these stock photo resources!
